In support of the global campaign that kicks off at the beginning of October to raise awareness about “Breast Cancer,” Al-Ikhaa, Al-Farabi, Mu’adh Abu Mahdi Hospitals, and Idlib Specialized Surgical Hospital organized joint awareness sessions on breast cancer last week. These sessions featured the participation of several specialized doctors and healthcare workers.
These sessions covered essential information about breast cancer, its symptoms, risk factors, prevention methods, as well as how to perform self-examinations and routine breast checks.
Dr. Aaliyah Al-Mohammad, one of the speakers at the session from Idlib Specialized Surgical Hospital, stated that breast cancer is one of the most common cancers among women but is curable if detected early.
Midwife Safaa Al-Jassim added, “Self-examination and routine breast checks are crucial methods for early detection of breast cancer, so women are encouraged to undergo these examinations regularly.”
Participants in the session expressed their gratitude for this awareness event, emphasizing the importance of spreading awareness about breast cancer and its prevention methods.
