Surgical Hospitals

Since its establishment, SEMA’s name has been popular on signboards of surgical hospitals and it has been and still is the most prominent supporter for the continuation of field and specialized hospitals in Syria for the purpose of providing secondary health care services.

We are proud today that we could move to the next level of tertiary care, perform qualitative and complex surgeries and continue despite the Corona and cholera pandemics.

Since the emergence of our organization, SEMA, we have provided various types of support to secondary health care facilities, including surgical hospitals, maternity and pediatric hospitals and general hospitals, and today we lead a package of high-quality medical services.

Despite the distances that separate us as expatriate doctors from our motherland, we chose to be in the field and to reconnect with the Syrian land and with the Syrians. In parallel, we also have our humanitarian institutions in Europe and America, which ensure that the followed health standards of the provided services inside Syria are in line with the international health standards.

Reproductive Health

At SEMA we look at “Reproductive Health” as a life style because it affects both men and women from childhood to old age. According to the United Nations Population Fund, reproductive health at any age has a profound impact on an individual’s health later on, and reaching women of childbearing age means relieving them of war and moving society to a more peaceful, healthy, and fertile level.

The “Reproductive Health” program has provided special medical services to the weakest links of the displaced population, namely women of fertile age, who do not have access to medical services that meet their special and necessary needs. This program constitutes a bridge that extends from the present to the future because we are sure that women and children are the future and that supporting Reproductive health is the best form of life support.

Primary Health Care

The Syrian Expatriate Medical Association “SEMA” supports a network of fixed and mobile primary health care centers. This network consists of 10 fixed centers and two mobile clinics to cover the largest possible number of needs of the local community, and they are all equipped with expert medical staff trained in clinical standards and protocols.

We build our philosophy on the basis that the continuous investment in establishing more primary health centers is an optimal investment in human health in terms of reducing dependence on hospitals and supporting a healthier lifestyle for the community.

The Association applies the essential package of primary health care services, covering the areas of: reproductive health, child health, mental health and psychological support, communicable and non-communicable diseases, nutrition, and vaccinations.

Isolation Hospitals

With the beginning of sensing the first symptoms of the spread of the Corona virus, and as a proactive step, the Syrian Expatriate Medical Association “SEMA” initiated the creation of 3 hospitals for isolation last year, in the most crowded geographical areas.

In addition, SEMA immediately responded to the cholera outbreak by establishing two special centers for cholera control to which patients from mild to severe cases were received, and provided with oral solutions, vaccination and medicines.

Dialysis Centers

In dialysis centers, we work to make patients with kidney failure as happy as healthy people.

As part of our medical policies to target the most vulnerable and underrepresented patient segments, SEMA has paid special attention to patients with renal failure.

SEMA has provided two dialysis centers to provide integrated services for patients with renal failure under the supervision of specialized medical staff, by providing regular dialysis sessions, periodic monitoring, treatment medications, and even transportation in order to ensure that this vulnerable group has access to healthcare.

These centers provide dialysis services to cover the needs of the widest segment of patients with renal failure. Previously, before the launch of these two centers, patients had to bear the hardship of traveling to Turkey for dialysis sessions.
