The OCHA team from the United Nations conducted a field visit to Al-Rahma Surgical Hospital in Darkush, which is supported by the Syria Cross-Border Humanitarian Fund (SCHF) and implemented by SEMA.
During the visit, the team conducted a tour to monitor operations and gain insight into the main challenges faced by the medical and administrative staff, with the aim of ensuring the continuity of services and improving their quality.
Rotana Alkhatarni, Programs Officer at the Syria Cross-Border Humanitarian Fund, emphasized the importance of the hospital, stating:
“This hospital covers a wide geographical area stretching approximately between Jisr al-Shughur and Darkush, making it one of the most essential hospitals in the region.”
She added:
“We have witnessed the critical services this hospital provides, receiving around 10,000 to 15,000 patients monthly, and serving various population groups. There is an urgent need for funding to sustain the hospital’s operations and ensure continued access to life-saving healthcare.”
