Protection Program
SEMA took the initiative to integrate GBV services into its package of health services, to be at the forefront of organizations providing gender-sensitive and protective health services.
In its programs, it targeted the most vulnerable groups of the society, especially those with special needs, and worked to provide wheelchairs and hearing aids for children with special needs.
We provide psychological first aid, psychosocial support, and referral services while mainstreaming the basic protection principles of dignity, safety, and safe access.
Afterwards, SEMA expanded and established Women and Girls Safe Spaces and later on Child Friendly Spaces. In the Women and Girls Safe Spaces, SEMA provides Gender-Based Violence response services as well as mitigation services such as awareness-raising sessions, empowerment courses for women and girls, Young Mothers Club program, and recreational activities for girls.
