Premature birth is still among the main causes of infant mortality in northern Syria, due to the low level of nutrition of pregnant women and the harsh conditions of displacement, war, and poverty that dominate the absolute majority of the population. Therefore, it is very common for poor mothers to give birth to premature babies.
These newborn babies are more vulnerable to health complications such as respiratory distress syndrome, heart problems, hypothermia, and a weakened immune system, which threatens their lives!
