Feeding the Needy in Syria this Eid
Qurbani in Syria

Let your Qurbani be with us this year as the best way to draw closer to Allah and thank Him this Eid!

As Eid al-Adha approaches, we renew our invitation to everyone who wishes to share the reward and effort with us to reach 2000 displaced and relocated families in the northern regions of Syria from your place!

By joining our campaign, you participate in a journey of solidarity and giving to the deprived.

What is the significance of what we are inviting you to?

Your offering of Qurbani gifts embodies sublime meanings, as the sacrifice holds a great position in Islam by spreading love and compassion among the community members, and this act is capable of building a cohesive and supportive community, with no distinction among its members regardless of their living standards as they share the Eid meal.

As you know, 90% of the population in northern Syria has been living below the poverty line for years, which has caused a clear food crisis that we see in our field trips in the form of children suffering from malnutrition, tents lacking basic supplies, pregnant and nursing women who find nothing to keep them healthy and energetic, or families choosing between a meal and a box of medicine. The scenes of need in our areas of work are many, and we want the season of sacrifices to make a difference, even if only for the days of the sacred Eid!

Over the past years since 2013, SEMA teams have gained extensive experience in selecting sacrifices, slaughtering, skinning, packaging, and distributing them within public health conditions and optimal standards, and every season we follow the best practices from A to Z and receive many kind prayers for us and our donors.

Join us now and thank Allah for His grace and blessings and draw closer to Him by offering the sacrifice of our Prophet Ibrahim, peace be upon him.

How do we implement the Qurbani project?

We fully understand the importance of offering to Allah the best possible, hoping that Allah will accept from us and you, and the process begins with a clear sequence from selecting the sacrifice to its final delivery to the beneficiary.

  1. Choosing to buy the sacrifices: The sacrifice is chosen to fit the Sharia regulations and specifications regarding age, health, and disease-free status.
  2. Slaughtering and timing of the sacrifice: The sacrifice is slaughtered according to the Islamic method in clean slaughterhouses by specialized hands and according to health and decency standards, starting from the first day of Eid al-Adha and throughout the three subsequent days (Tashreeq days).
  3. Preparing the sacrifice: The sacrifice is cut and divided into equal portions, each weighing approximately 1.2 kilos for a single family.
  4. Distributing the sacrifices: As soon as the cutting and packaging are completed, we begin distributing them to displaced families, focusing on widows, orphans, the most needy, and some workers in the health sector and our hospitals who need support.
  5. Documentation: All stages of the Qurbani project are documented and photos and videos are sent to donors a week after the project’s execution (if a full sacrifice or more is donated, special documentation with the donor’s name will be sent if requested)
