As part of its ongoing humanitarian response in the Gaza Strip, Sema distributed 1700 portions of meat to the residents of Rafah camps, targeting the most vulnerable families in need.

Since the start of the brutal war on innocent civilians in the Gaza Strip on October 7th, which led to the death of thousands of innocent people and the destruction of their properties, the Syrian Expatriates Medical Association, ‘SEMA,’ has spared no effort in providing support and assistance to the afflicted people of Gaza.

This response marks the second time, following the initial medical response in October of the previous year, during which Sema delivered a shipment of medical aid and surgical supplies.

A glimpse into the humanitarian needs in Gaza:

– The number of casualties has exceeded 15,000, including more than 6,150 children and over 4,000 women.
– Additionally, around 7,000 individuals are missing, including more than 4,700 children and women.
– More than 1.6 million displaced people, constituting over 70% of the population of the Gaza Strip.
– Approximately 290,000 housing units, representing more than 60% of the homes in the region, have been either completely or partially destroyed.
– The healthcare system has completely collapsed, with most hospitals and medical institutions being destroyed.

SEMA expresses gratitude to all its supporters in this campaign and hopes that this response, along with its predecessor, serves as an initiative to heal the wounds of the local residents who have been enduring a relentless war for the past three months.”
