Our medical team at the Specialized Surgical Hospital has successfully performed the first-ever procedure to dilate aortic coarctation in Northern Syria, saving the life of young Hani and giving him a new chance at a normal life full of movement and hope.

Hani arrived at our facility after being transferred from another hospital, suffering from severe narrowing of the aortic isthmus. This condition had caused dangerously high blood pressure, persistent fatigue, and intermittent claudication, preventing him from living a normal life. An urgent intervention was his only option to safeguard his health future.

With skilled hands and unwavering hearts, the team successfully performed the dilation using a covered stent (Begraft) through the cardiac catheterization lab. By the grace of God, the procedure was a resounding success!

Immediately after the procedure, Hani’s blood pressure returned to normal, and the pulse in his lower limbs was restored, allowing him to move without pain or fatigue. After close monitoring, Hani was discharged from the hospital in excellent condition, ready to start a new chapter of his life, free from suffering.

This medical achievement is the result of the dedication and tireless work of our medical staff, led by Dr. Wael Habib, Dr. Ali Al-Saeed, and Dr. Mohammad Junaid, along with the catheterization and anesthesia technicians, who were an integral part of this significant medical success.

It is worth noting that aortic coarctation is a congenital defect that can be present from birth and often requires medical intervention. Cardiac catheterization is now considered one of the most effective and safest solutions, especially for young patients, making it the ideal option to save lives and offer patients a more comfortable and secure future.
