Ramadan is the holiest month in Islam. It is the month that Allah SWT has revealed the Holy Qura’an to our Beloved Prophet ﷺ.

Importance of Ramadan Donation

During Ramadan, Muslims strive to worship Allah Almighty in the best way they can to seek His forgiveness and mercy for their sins and transgressions.

Giving donations is one of the best forms of worship during Ramadan to atone for their mistakes.

Narrated Ibn ‘Abbas: “Allah’s Messenger ﷺ was the most generous of all the people, and he used to reach the peak in generosity in the month of Ramadan when Gabriel met him. Gabriel used to meet him every night of Ramadan to teach him the Qur’an. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was the most generous person, even more generous than the strong uncontrollable wind (in readiness and haste to do charitable deeds).” Sahih al-Bukhari 6

Give Your Zakat in Ramadan

Ramadan is the month of mercy, forgiveness, and deliverance from Hellfire, in which rewards multiply and blessings increase.

It’s narrated that the virtue of charity in Ramadan is seventy times that of the rest of the year.

Therefore, most Muslims prefer to pay Zakat in this generous month because of its blessings and goodness and the multiplication of good deeds from Allah (SWT).

Zakat Al Mal

Zakat on wealth is obligatory for every Muslim whose wealth exceeds the Nisab limit, and he must pay 2.5% of its value to Zakat every lunar year.

Although you can pay Zakat al-Mal at any time of the year, most Muslims prefer to spend it in the month of Ramadan precisely because of the goodness, blessing, and doubling of the reward from Allah.

Allah (SWT) said: “Establish prayer, and pay alms-tax. Whatever good you send forth for yourselves, you will ˹certainly˺ find ˹its reward˺ with Allah. Surely Allah is All-Seeing of what you do.” Surah Al-Baqarah – verse 110

Zakat Al Fitr

Zakat al-Fitr is the charity obligatory for every Muslim in the month of Ramadan, whatever the value of his wealth, except for the Needy and poor, and although it is a minimal donation (approximately 2.5 kilograms of leading food), it has very great benefits like:

  • Purifies the Muslim’s heart and soul.
  • Completes the worship of fasting Ramadan perfectly.
  • Enhancing social solidarity among Muslims.
  • Spreading happiness and bringing the joyful vibes of Eid to the hearts of the poor and needy.
Zakat and Sadaqah in Ramadan

Charity is a voluntary donation a Muslim makes to gain God’s pleasure and draw closer to Him. The best time for charity is Ramadan, as stated in the hadith of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.

Anas narrated that: the Prophet ﷺ was asked which fast was most virtuous after Ramadan? He ﷺ said: “Sha’ban in honor of Ramadan,” He said: “Which charity is best?” He ﷺ said: “Charity in Ramadan.” Jami` at-Tirmidhi 663

Iftar Donation

Ramadan food donation to those who are fasting is one of the best acts of worship that is not available to you except in the blessed month of Ramadan, especially to Muslims who do not find anything to satisfy their hunger when the call to Maghrib Prayer comes.

Zaid bin Khalid Al-Juhani narrated that: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Whoever provides the food for a fasting person to break his fast with, then for him is the same reward as his (the fasting person’s), without anything being diminished from the reward of the fasting person.” Jami` at-Tirmidhi 807

Food Donation

While we enjoy eating various types of Ramadan food and drinks (thanks to Allah Almighty), millions of our Muslim brothers do not find the simplest foods on their table during Ramadan in various countries, such as Yemen, Syria, Lebanon, and many others…

The best types of food that these families need are the basic materials like:

  • Grains such as; rice, lentils, and bulgur.
  • Oil, butter or ghee.
  • Dates.
  • Suhoor meals, such as; olives, thyme, cheese, and dairy.

Children Clothes Donation

Thousands of Muslims do not have enough money to buy Eid clothes for their children. If you want to bring Eid joy to the hearts of these children and their families, you can donate the price of new clothes that these little angels wear during Eid, which will last for after Eid as well.

Do not hesitate to help your Muslim brothers in all parts of the world; Whatever the value of your donation, make sure that it makes a difference, and do not forget the words of our Beloved Prophet ﷺ: “Every act of kindness is sadaqah.” (Bukhari and Muslim).
